Hand strung and hand dyed, these chimes are made by Balinese artisans of natural, renewable materials.
The pieces of capiz (also called windowpane shell) are sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed, then strung together with strong, invisible nylon cord, with a pair of tiny brown sea-shells between each section of capiz.
The curving top is of black finish coconut wood.
The resulting chimes provide luminous colour that is even more striking when light shines through them. When touched by the wind, your chime will produce a delicate tinkling musical sound.
