The central suspension system design allows the tube to resonate freely, avoiding the sound-dampening tendency of traditional chimes assembled by running a string through each side of the tube. 

The 55 inch Corinthian Bell is unique as it is the only one tuned to a major 7th chord (G7):  the depth of harmony is wonderful.
