Concerto chimes do not have any wooden components - the top and the wind catcher are of aluminium which have a UV-resistant powder-coating to give a satin black finish. The striker is of a black polymer which produces soft tones upon contact with the 5 aluminium chimes, which have a satin bronze finish - the powder-coating creates a slightly textured surface whilst retaining light reflecting properties.
The wind catcher is circular, curved to catch the breeze.
The cord from which each tubes hangs is attached to a device seated
within each tube rather than passing through a pair of holes drilled
into the tube walls: this construction, combined with the 1.7 mm thickness of the metal, allows the metal to resonate for longer. It is also aesthetically pleasing.
The chime has a robust 'S' hook, also finished in black, for ease of hanging.
