This neat chime has no wooden components. The domed top is of powder-coated steel with a matt black finish; the striker is of a black polymer (a hard synthetic material) and the wind catcher matches the top - metal with a matt black finish.
The chimes are strung in an unusual manner, the cord being attached to a small metal rod which is welded inside the tube. There are, therefore, no holes drilled through the metal tubes, which enhances the resonance produced when the striker makes contact with the chimes.
